BBAC Commences a Fresh Start in Cyprus
BBAC relocated its Limassol-Cyprus branch to a new bigger and more advanced bank-owned building, as a part of the bank's expansion strategy, which aims to improve services and extend the bank’s network, while choosing prime locations to meet the growing needs of its clientele and to serve them optimally.
The branch was moved to an extremely spacious new building with a modern and unique design, in order to expand services and products and to serve the largest number of customers in a private and comfortable atmosphere, according to the highest level of delicate service. The relocated branch was provided with all modern facilities in accordance with the development plan implemented by the bank, which aims to upgrade all its branches in order to give customers a more distinctive banking experience.
BBAC’s Chairman and General Manager Sheikh Ghassan Assaf stressed on the importance of the bank’s continued investment in the Cypriot economy, which is symbolized by the re-opening of the main branch in a state-of-the-art building. He commented saying: "Our presence in Cyprus goes back to more than 25 years and we see that the current difficult financial and economic situation will not prevent the Cypriot economy from getting back on track, especially with the continuous influx of tourists, as well as the constant evolution of the oil and gas industry."
He added: "What matters to us the most as a Lebanese bank is that we see that Cyprus is a special location for Lebanese companies and Lebanese expatriates who are always looking for the safety provided by Cyprus, being the closest point in Europe to the Lebanese shores." He added: "We have paid special attention to the expansion and development of our bank's main branch in Cyprus hoping that this step would be a promising new start, and to prove that we have big aspirations for Cyprus. We at BBAC hope for the continued progress of our business on the island and its economic future."

BBAC Organizes the “Economic Development of Chouf” Forum
BBAC organized an economic forum entitled "The Role of Bank of Beirut and the Arab Countries in the Development of Economic Sectors in the Chouf Area", under the patronage of Mr. Taymour Walid Jumblat and in cooperation with the Coordinating Body of Economic Sectors in Chouf. The forum was launched at a ceremony held at Mir Amin Palace Hotel in Beiteddine in the presence of BBAC’s Chairman and General Manager Sheikh Ghassan Assaf, Mr. Taymour Jumblat’s representative Mr. Radwan Nasr and many economic and financial experts as well as managers and officials from BBAC.
BBAC’s Chairman and General Manager Sheikh Ghassan Assaf gave a speech in which he referred to the importance of this meeting in light of the difficult social and economic conditions Lebanon is facing, as a ray of hope for the Chouf’s economic growth, which has always been sought after by the inhabitants of Chouf area.
Sheikh Assaf said: "It is BBAC’s duty to come up with initiatives that build a vision to push economic progress forward and uplift the area, by facilitating the funding of enterprises, enabling local companies to seize opportunities, and supporting sustainable economic activity and growth in the Chouf."
He added: "Small and medium-sized enterprises are the main component of Chouf’s economy as they are the main source of youth employment. The role of the economy is to stabilize this progress through jobs and investment, and we are in BBAC always ready to support aspiring young, and help them build their projects."
Sheikh Assaf mentioned that entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises seeking funding for their projects have many options and opportunities thanks to subsidized loans from banks and financial institutions like Banque du Liban (BDL) and Kafalat. All it requires is courage and submitting projects drafts.
Finally, Sheikh Assaf emphasized the importance of BBAC’s support and investment in the Chouf, reaffirming the bank’s slogan: "Your Caring Bank."
Mr. Radwan Nasr, representing Mr. Taymour Jumblat, noted that the forum acknowledges the difficult conditions Lebanon is experiencing, particularly the economic ones: "We thank BBAC for its distinctive initiative for the region and its people. Today, we know that we can rely on the banking sector, and hope that BBAC’s initiatives become an example for all banks and funding institutions."
Dr. Khater Abi Habib, Chairman and General Manager of Kafalat, hailed BBAC’s initiative, and pointed out that the Lebanese private sector is mainly made of small and medium-sized enterprises, which are facing difficulties in obtaining banking funds. He said: "Kafalat helps small and medium-sized enterprises getting financing from banks by giving them financial guarantees for loans to finance productive projects in one of the five supported sectors: industry, agriculture, tourism, advanced technology, and crafts."
BBAC is in constant communication with its customers, whether through its national branch network comprised of 39 branches dispersed throughout various Lebanese regions, or through development initiatives carried out by the bank. BBAC will remain supportive of all initiatives that help the country’s national and regional economic growth, proving once again that BBAC is "Your Caring Bank."

BBAC Signs MoU with the Modern University of Business and Science
BBAC and the Modern University of Business and Science (MUBS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to begin bilateral collaborations across many different areas.
The MoU will serve as a framework to promote, among others, knowledge and expertise exchange, capacity building and networking. Academically qualified MUBS students will benefit from training, internship and employment opportunities with the bank, while BBAC employees will have the chance to participate in MUBS’s academic programs. Moreover, additional areas of collaboration include the support and participation in joint activities and events that serve both institutions’ mission statements.
The signing ceremony took place at BBAC Head Office and the agreement was signed by Sheikh Ghassan Assaf, Chairman General Manager of BBAC, and Dr. Hatem Alamy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MUBS.
On this occasion, Dr. Hatem Alamy commented: “The University’s objectives converge with BBAC’s objectives on a common goal of supporting students and building their future. The University is proud to partner with BBAC, a trustworthy bank well known for its effective role and initiatives in serving its clients and providing value and quality customer service. This agreement is consistent with the University's policy to strengthen the partnership with the labor market and active economic sectors. ”
As for Sheikh Ghassan Assaf, he said: “We are pleased to partner with a dynamic higher education institution like MUBS. BBAC Rewards “Diamond” Cardholders with Diamonds and Jewelry
BBAC held its annual celebration for its Diamond Card, which is designed exclusively for women and offered to them free of charge for life with a chance to win valuable prizes of jewelry and diamonds. Two lucky cardholders won a precious diamond each in the draw, and valuable pieces of jewelry were distributed to the ladies who successfully collected the required number of points by using their card on purchases

BBAC Supports the “Authentic Shouf” Campaign to Boost the Economy and Toursim
Within its commitment to strengthen the Lebanese economy, BBAC participated in the launch of the "Authentic Shouf" campaign. The campaign, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Economy and Trade, is a joint initiative by the Beiteddine Art Festival Committee, the Association of Al Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve, the Shouf Traders Association and the Lebanese Franchise Association.
Commenting on the campaign, Sheikh Ghassan Assaf, Chairman and General Manager of BBAC said, "our support for the campaign 'Authentic Shouf' comes from our social and economic commitments and responsibilities to embrace local projects and initiatives that target the diverse facets of society in order to achieve a sustainable rate of growth in the country.
